Tuesday evening "Community Meditation"
Weekly - all welcome
8:15pm to 9:30
Free event
One of the Centre's community of practitioners will lead the group for this session, we either have a meditation in a different style - we've tried Osho dynamic meditations, Chakra meditations, kriya meditation, guided meditations, tibetan bowl sound healings, and others.
On alternative weeks we also have Spiritual Book club.
We have also had sessions of "the Work" from Byron Katie, we have had talks from spiritual healers and soul workers, participated in shamanic drumming circles, and had free viewings of spiritual films from the Spiritual Film Circle of America.
To know what's coming up, please check the events list for the next Tuesday Community Event planned here:
This is an opportunity to come together in community and realise and share your truth in each moment. Its and opportunity to feel all we’re feeling consciously and then share it honestly and openly. And to be heard and supported by others.
---
Once a month on Tuesday evening we do a very special Sharing session : Truth Circle / Sharing Group / Presence Group The format of the group (experimental – adapted from different processes Chris Kent experienced over the years).
· Meditation or listen to spiritual discourse to bring the group to a deeper level of presence
· Sitting in silence and feeling whatever is happening in the moment.
· Group members can share what is moving through them in that moment and be witnessed by others in the group
· Group members can offer feedback on what has been shared in terms of what insights they have gained, what they are feeling in the moment or how what has been shared resonates with them.
This is a truth circle for members to speak their truth in the moment rather than to get caught up in stories about the past or future. Its not intended to be a therapy group where members come for deep emotional processing (although members of the group will hold space for this if something comes up). Its not a facilitated group. It can help us to understand that we are often our own best guru and can also be gurus to each other through this type of group process.
Its intended to be a space where we come together to deepen in our truth and get greater clarity through the amazing mirrors that we can all be for each other when we’re present. We can gain powerful insights through our own sharing and that of others which can support is in evolving more quickly than we would on our own.
Although we may be on a path of going inwards and deepening our practice of meditation and yoga, this will also give us the opportunity to come together and deepen our connection with each other and build community.
---
In addition, we are open to other possibilities for Tuesday's session: Please suggest any meditation/yoga practises and styles you are interested in for us to look into?
This is an ongoing programme so see the Workshops page for details of Community Meditations

Wednesday evening Kriya Yoga Satsangs
7pm - 9pm Every Wednesday - free event - all welcome even if you haven't studied this subject and just want to see what its all about.
- Satsang is a meeting of people searching for Truth - at this satsang the Kriya yoga traditions are followed - all visitors are welcome, we sit (chairs are available) and do some chanting to warm up, then 30 or more minutes meditation, followed by traditional bhajans, and either a reading or teachings if a teacher is visiting - the philosophical ideas are based on the philosophy of Sri Paramhamsa Yogananda, who wrote "Autobiography of a Yogi".
For more information on Paramhamsa Yogananda
Guruji's book, "Autobiography of a Yogi", is available at the Centre
S unday evening Satsang
5:30pm - 7:30pm on Sunday - monthly -
Please refer to the Class timetable for next Sunday's Satsang dates
Satsang is "in the company of the Truth" - sharing the Truth with other like-minded souls - whatever form Truth takes for you! On most Sundays we will follow the Sivananda organisations Traditional style Satsang program see details of the teachings here: Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Society
Evening starts with 20 - 30 minute meditation, kirtan or traditional chanting (we have the chants printed so its easy to follow, sometimes we have a harmonium player too, and we always have shakers for musical support!!) followed by a short reading or if we have a visiting teacher, they may give a discourse on a philosophical or yogic topic. The evening concludes around 7:30 with prayers and (waving of a lit flame in honour of our Higher Selves and the Light - a beautiful Hindu tradition that you can participate in or watch) after which we share Prasad - blessed food (in this case only snacks, not a full meal!)
Occasionally on Sunday's if a great teacher is visiting and available, they may offer to lead a discourse or discussion on a spiritual topic. This will always be advertised in our newsletters (signup now on the homepage) or on the "workshops" listing on this website.
